Help on Viewing Building Drawings

Our building drawings are displayed in a format called SVG . You will need an SVG viewer in order to see the building drawings.

Click here to download SVG Viewer

There are many SVG viewers, some of which are part of browsers like Mozilla and Firefox. Some are plug-ins, for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Netscape browsers. There are even SVG viewers for some mobile phones (Although it is unknown if an SVG Tiny viewer will display the building drawings)!

This site was developed using the Adobe Pre-Release SVG Viewer 6.0, mainly because it works with Netscape 7.2, Opera 8, Firefox, and Internet Explorer browsers. We suggest you use this version. The viewer which is part of Adobe Reader, or found easily on Adobe's site, is version 3. This viewer works as well.

Unfortunately we can't provide help in installing or using these viewers. If you do experience trouble in downloading or viewing SVG content, we'd still like to hear about it. After you install a viewer, you can test it by viewing SVG content from Adobe's web site.

Additional Instructions for Firefox, Netscape, and Opera users on Windows platforms
After installing the plugin, you need to copy the dlls to the plugins folder of your browser. The following are folders are for the Adobe SVG Viewer 6.0 version. If you are using a different SVG viewer, you'll need to find the plugins youself, and copy them to the destination folder listed below.
For Firefox, copy all the files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 6.0\Plugins folder to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins
For Opera, copy all the files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 6.0\Plugins folder to C:\Program Files\Opera\Program\Plugins
For Netscape, copy all the files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 6.0\Plugins folder to C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins

Once you have an SVG viewer installed, the building drawing appears in the window for residential and commercial building data.
