Appointments are NOT required – our offices are open for walk-in service, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, except holidays, and are adhering to safety and social distancing guidelines. Please note our brand-new service center at 2500 34th St. N St. Petersburg – 2nd Floor is now open and replaces the closed 66th Street location.

Exemption &
Portability Changes

City of St. Petersburg has adopted an additional homestead exemption for low-income seniors who have maintained permanent residence for at least 25 years. To learn more about qualifying criteria, please click here.

PASSED! Amendment 5 - Extend "Save Our Homes" Portability Period: Voters statewide voted to guarantee homesteaded property owners always receive a minimum of two years to transfer (port) their "Save Our Homes" Benefit, effective Jan 1, 2021. Learn more about this important ballot initiative!

PASSED! Amendment 6 - Homestead Property Tax Discount for Spouses of Deceased Veterans: This proposed constitutional amendment will allow the surviving spouse of a combat disabled veteran age 65 and over to continue to receive the veteran's exemption. Passage would align this with other surviving spouse disability exemptions for both veterans and first responders. Learn more about this important ballot initiative!


Attention New Homeowners
Buying a Home In Pinellas County? Your property taxes may be much higher than the prior owner's taxes due to change in ownership. Assessed Value of property resets to full market value on January 1st after a change of ownership, usually resulting in higher taxes. Please use our Tax Estimator to estimate taxes under new ownership.
